FSN 510 - Trace Mineral Nutrition, Metabolism and Clinical Applications Presents a global approach of the role of trace elements in the human body, food and the environment. Examines their function as nutrients (deficiency and toxicity) and how they impact human health and chronic disease and their applications in a clinical setting. Addresses their role on gene expression in relation to health and disease. The impact of environmental changes on trace elements in the food chain and ultimately human and animal health is explored.
Prerequisites & Notes FSN 410 and NUR 303 or permission.
