BIO 405 - Medical Parasitology and Mycology Examines the medically important parasites causing human infection, associated epidemiology and current laboratory methods employed for diagnosis. The major groups of pathogenic fungi are also discussed, including laboratory procedures for detection and identification. Applications of immunochemical and molecular methods used to diagnose or monitor a variety of infectious disease processes is emphasized. Lec 2, Lab 2.
Prerequisites & Notes Clinical Laboratory Science majors only or permission. BMB 300; BMB 440 preferred.
