Aerospace Engineering (Certificate)

Aerospace Engineering is the branch of engineering that focuses on the design, development, construction and testing of all aspects of aircraft and spacecraft. This certificate would be of interest to mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and related disciplines who what to expand their knowledge and career opportunities in this field.  This certificate is available entirely on-line. 

The Graduate Certificate in Aerospace Engineering is comprised of four course totaling 12 credits.  The courses are:

  • MEE 445- Aeronautics
  • MEE 446- Astronautics
  • MEE 547- Flight Dynamics and Control of Aircraft
  • MEE 548- Spacecraft Orbit and Attitude Dynamics and Control

  A grade of B or higher is required for courses to count towards completion of the Aerospace Engineering Graduate Certificate.

 

Admissions


Students to be admitted into the Aerospace Engineering Graduate Certificate must hold an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related discipline and have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.  GRE scores are not required.  Students can apply to transfer up to 6 credits of equivalent coursework into the Aerospace Engineering Graduate Certificate.  The certificate coordinator must approve such transfer credits after assessing whether they are substantially equivalent.

Continuation to Professional Science Masters Degree in Engineering and Business


Aerospace Engineering Graduate Certificate coursework counts toward a Professional Science Masters (PSM) in Engineering and Business.  Information on the coursework and application requirements for the PSM may be found in the graduate catalog.
