ECO 553 - Financial Economics


This course examines the economics of financial markets, asset pricing, risks, and decision making in the face of uncertainty. Topics include the time value of money, the efficient market hypothesis, optimal portfolio allocation, and the capital asset pricing model.

Prerequisites & Notes
C- or better in each of the following: ECO 120, ECO121 and either MAT 116 or MAT 126 or graduate standing in Economics, Financial Economics, Resource Economics or permission from instructor.

 

Different than undergraduate pre-req, this course only requires admission in the graduate school.

 

Students may not take both ECO 453 and 553 for credit.
