CEC 585 - Substance Abuse: Contemporary Approaches to Counseling, Treatment, and Prevention

For mental health counseling, substance abuse, and education professionals this course examines models of diagnosis and assessment, and behavioral techniques in the treatment of alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence. Additionally etiology and epidemiology of addictive behaviors will be addressed and the class will also examine, in depth, the addictive behaviors treatment outcome literature and the critical science of prevention.
